Subtle Exercises. Joints and Glands Postures are simple exercises for the development of body awareness. During the practice of each movement you will be encouraged to feel the body. This series is practiced very slowly. Since slow motion movements need more attention, this helps to develop concentration and, in itself, helps to induce relaxation.
Joints and Glands movements are simple. They and all Yoga Asanas are slow, conscious stretching or conscious postures and not fast energy burning movements that we experience in aerobic or "keep fit" classes. Problems such as straining or pulled ligaments or muscles rarely occur since students are always mindful of the movement in the particular body part being used. This awareness is the important difference between yoga asanas and exercise.This class will appeal to any individual seeking to improve flexibility, concentration, body awareness, and well being.
